A regional conference on "Multidisciplinary approach to gynecological and pediatric problems" was held in Sheki.

On June 3, 2022, a regional conference on "Multidisciplinary approach to gynecological and pediatric problems" was organized by the Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health. Obstetricians and gynecologists, pediatricians, neonatologists and family doctors working in Sheki, Zagatala, Balakan, Gabala, Mingachevir, Agdash, Goychay and Ismayilli took part in the conference.

Rahib Mammadov, deputy director of the Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health, make the opening remarks and stated that the purpose of the event is to increase the quality of obstetrics and gynecology services, to raise the level of professionalism of medical specialists working in obstetric institutions, and to improve their practical skills.

Deputy director of the Scientific Research Pediatric Institute named after K. Farajova, neonatologist Azer Ahmadov, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Baku branch of the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov, Professor Islam Magalov, neonatologists - Lala Nazarova, Yalchin Mirzayev, doctor of philosophy in medicine Samira Taghiyeva, junior researcher of the Scientific Research Pediatric Institute named after K. Farajova, pediatrician Aynur Ismayilova, associate professor of the Department of Pediatrics of the Azerbaijan State Medical Training Institute named after A. Aliyev Sanubar Valiyeva, specialist in artificial insemination Kamal Niftiyev, scientific worker of the Department of Neonatology of the Scientific-Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology, doctor-neonatologist Lala Rzayeva made a speech at the event. The participants were given detailed information on neonatal multisystem inflammatory syndrome, PAS (Placenta accreta spectrum) and other complications of caesarean scar, follow-up of jaundice in newborns, juvenile hemorrhages, approach to newborns with diaphragmatic hernia and other relevant topics, and other questions were answered.

It should be noted that the conference was accredited by the Scientific-Medical Council of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan and was awarded 6 credit points for continuous medical education.
