Uzbekistan hosts XVII summit of leaders of Eastern European Diabetes Association "Unity for Health"

On April 19-21, 2019, XVII summit of the leaders of the Eastern European Diabetes Association "Unity for Health" was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The summit was attended by representatives of 10 Eastern European Diabetes Association country members - Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation, Ukraine, Armenia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Belarus, the head of International Diabetes Federation, Prof Nam Cho., the head of the Project coordination department of Public Health and Reform Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan (PHRC) Sabina Babazade, the head of the Azerbaijan Diabetes League Yegana Sultanova.

Diabetes management problems and solutions in the Republic of Uzbekistan, socio-economic aspects, protection of patients' rights, prevention and early diagnostics of diabetes, vascular disease, prediabetes, developments in diabetes technology,  management of type 2 diabetes and modern standards, as well as key messages of the international program on treatment and prevention of diabetes for 2016-2020 were widely discussed within the framework of the three-day summit.
