Event titled "Young people opt for a healthy lifestyle" held at Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sport

On November 21, 2018 was held an event titled "Young people opt for a healthy lifestyle" at Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sport. The event organized by Narimanov District Executive Power, was attended by representatives of various Government bodies and experts.

The head of Health policy and reforms department of the Public Health and Reforms Center (PHRC) of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahla Mirzazade made a presentation on "Young People Opt for a Healthy Lifestyle". She discussed bad habits and their negative impact on human's health and warned about serious consequences (physical vs. mental addictions) might be arisen in the future. “Drug abuse frequently results in crime, violence and other adverse consequences and involvement of family, educational institutions and society in combating drug addiction plays a major role in treatment,” Sh. Mirzazade added.

She also told about projects and programs conducted by PHRC on drug use prevention and made relevant recommendations to youth.

At the end of the event, educational materials prepared by PHRC were distributed and questions of the students were answered.
